Mental Health

“Hello, my name is Kaitlin and I am 20 years old. During my sophomore year of high school I was watching a video on Facebook about how this person lived through their day with anxiety. I was confused and concerned because I thought everyone felt this way. Everyday was a struggle with multiple panic attacks a week. I lived in fear and walked on eggshells all the time. I spoke to my mother how I felt and I was later diagnosed with severe anxiety with panic attacks.

Junior through senior year I was then diagnosed with POTS, hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, and EDS. And recently I’ve been dealing with new bowel problems.

I am now in my junior year of nursing school receiving my RN and BSN with hopes to be a midwife in the future. I have an at-home service dog that alerts for my POTS and panic attacks that has changed my life. Since I got to college I’ve had a small amount of panic attacks so far and my grades have never been better! I know how to workout properly with my health problems, enjoy life with anxiety, and truly become myself. This necklace reminds me how much I’ve grown and where I started. I couldn’t be more proud of myself!” @kaitlinsgrace
