“Hey y’all! My name is Amber Blackburn and I wear purple to represent Lupus, Fibromyalgia & Migraines. I have had migraines for over 20 years. In 2016 I started having Hemiplegic Migraines which cause me to look and sound as though I am having a stroke! The migraines combined with Lupus and Fibromyalgia are debilitating. I was diagnosed with both Systemic Lupus and Fibromyalgia in 2012. However, looking back I can trace symptoms of both Lupus and Fibromyalgia back to my teenage years. At that time my symptoms were blown off because I was “too young” to have those things. Sadly, since 2012 many more diagnoses have been added to the list because you can’t have one without the others. But these three are what I spend the majority of my time advocating for.
